《The wave》는 김선익 작가의 ‘어머니’와 ‘파마’에 관한 사진집이다. 젊음과 나이듦, 과거와 현재를 주제로 순서를 구성했고 파마머리를 연상시키는 스프링 제본을 적용했다. 트레이싱지에 인쇄된 그래픽과 텍스트는 사진과 자연스럽게 어우러져 스며드는 느낌을 받을 수 있다. 후반부 아카이빙 사진은 2단으로 나뉘어져 페이지의 순서를 독자가 재구성 할 수 있다.
《The wave》 is a photography book about ‘mother’ and ‘perm’ by Sunik Kim. The sequence is organized around the themes of youth and age, past and present, and the spring binding is reminiscent of permed hair. The graphics and texts printed on tracing paper blend seamlessly with the photographs, giving them a sense of permeability. The second half of the archival photographs are divided into two sections, allowing the reader to reconfigure the order of the pages.
