《서베이 2019》는 “그래픽 디자이너들의 질문과 대답을 모으고, 서로 잇고, 그 위치를 표시하여 거대한 상황 파악의 그래프를 그리려는 시도”를 표방한 프로젝트다. 책에는 전시 현장과 함께 전시장을 채웠던 (예비) 그래픽 디자이너 194명의 응답을 담았다. 또한 두 연계 프로그램인 〈[라운드테이블] 릴레이 문답: 디자이너가 디자이너에게〉와 〈[강연] 필터링: 차단민감성의 한국인 그리고 디자인의 우울>의 기록을 보완하여 수록했다. 특히 〈[라운드테이블] 릴레이 문답: 디자이너가 디자이너에게〉 부분의 경우, 디자이너와 기획자로 활동하고 있는 익명의 9인에게 녹취록에 대한 댓글을 요청한 후 추가해 수록했다.
《Survey 2019》 is an attempt to “collect graphic designer’s questions and answers, connect them together, mark their locations, and draw a giant contextualized graph”. The book includes responses from 194 graphic designers who filled the exhibition space alongside the exhibition floor. It also includes two companion programs, the [Roundtable] Relay Question and Answer: Designers to Designers and [Lecture] Filtering: Blockers, Koreans, and the Melancholy of Design were complemented and included. In particular, the 〈[Roundtable] Relay Q&A: Designers to Designers〉, we asked nine anonymous designers and organizers to comment on the transcripts and added them.

《서베이2020 기록집》에는 호기롭게 전시의 시작을 알린 〈전시 서문〉과 함께 전시 현장에 대한 기획자의 예민한 반응을 담은 〈전시 후문〉을 담았다. 〈서베이2020 리뷰 토크〉 목차에서는 전시를 기획한 레벨나인과 wrm이 생산적인 대화를 표방하며 허심탄회하게 나눈 전시 리뷰를 볼 수 있다. 표지의 QR코드를 통해 접속할 수 있는《서베이2020 문장수집가》의 웹사이트는 과거의 문장을 읽고, 수집해서 복사하고, 답변할 수 있는 곳이다. 기록집을 제작하기 전까지 웹사이트에 남겨주신 문장들은 〈20년, 21년. 남은 문장들〉에 수록되어 과거에 대한 현재의 반응으로 책을 마무리한다.

In the ‘Survey 2020 Review Talk’ table of contents, you can see a review of the exhibition by rebel9 and wrm, who organized the exhibition, in the spirit of productive dialog. 《Survey 2020 Sentence Collector》 website, which can be accessed through the QR code on the cover, is a place where you can read, collect, copy, and answer past sentences. The sentences left on the website before the archive was created are included in 〈20 Years, 21 Years. Leftover Sentences〉 which concludes the book with present-day responses to the past.
